1. The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, inerrant in the original languages, and is the authority for all faith, life, and practice.
• 2 Timothy 3:16-17• 2 Peter 1:20-21• Psalm 119:105
2. There is one God, the Creator of all things, infinite and perfect, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• Deuteronomy 6:4• Matthew 28:19• Genesis 1:1• John 10:30
3. The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order to reveal the Father and redeem sinful man. He was crucified as the substitutionary, atoning sacrifice for sin. We believe in the literal physical resurrection of Jesus from the dead, demonstrating His identity and victory. We believe He ascended to the right hand of God where He reigns as King and Advocate, and intercedes for His people. This same Jesus will physically return in glory to judge all people and usher in the restoration of all things that will culminate in a new heaven and a new earth.
• John 1:1, 14• Luke 1:34-35• 1 Corinthians 15:3-4• Acts 1:9-11• Hebrews 7:25• Revelation 21:1
4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who indwells every true believer, seals them for salvation, teaches, comforts, convicts, and empowers them to obey God. He works to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to testify of Jesus Christ. We believe in the present-day working of the Holy Spirit in gifts that He distributes to His people as He wills.
• John 14:16-17• Ephesians 1:13-14• John 16:8• 1 Corinthians 12:4, 11
5. We believe that humanity was created male and female in the image of God as the stewards of creation, but that in Adam and Eve’s rebellion humanity fell and inherited a sinful nature and was estranged from God. The only way a person can be restored to right relationship with God is through the work of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We believe that all people will be resurrected, believers to eternal life, and unbelievers to eternal punishment.
• Genesis 1:27• Romans 5:12• John 14:6• Acts 24:15• Revelation 20:15
6. We believe that salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, obtained through faith in Jesus Christ and cannot be earned through any work of man. While good works do not effect salvation, they are evidence of it, and true believers will demonstrate the work of the Spirit in their lives by the progressive transformation of their character and actions.
• Ephesians 2:8-9• James 2:17• Galatians 5:22-23
7. We believe in the existence of the ancient enemy of God known as the Devil and Satan, the serpent of old who deceives the whole world. He and the other rebellious powers of darkness oppose the work of God and His Church and seek the destruction of God’s creation. He has been defeated by the work of Christ but is allowed to influence humanity for a time. His end is eternal judgment.
• Revelation 12:9• Ephesians 6:12• 1 Peter 5:8• Colossians 2:15• Revelation 20:10
8. We believe in one universal Church, composed of all those who have put their faith in the work of Christ on the cross for their salvation. This is the body of Christ, transcending denomination or minor disagreements. We believe this Church is called to advance the Kingdom of God through the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ, sacrificial love, service, intercessory prayer, and the discipleship of every believer. We practice believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper in obedience to Christ’s command.
• Ephesians 4:4-6• Matthew 28:19-20• 1 Timothy 2:1• Hebrews 10:24-25• Acts 2:38• 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
9. We believe that human life is sacred from conception to natural death, and that we must care for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellow man.
• Psalm 139:13-14• James 2:15-16• Matthew 25:40
10. We believe that, in accordance with the scriptures, God’s plan for human sexuality is only to be expressed in marriage, consisting of one man and one woman. We also affirm that male and female are unique biological persons created by God to complement each other. God has instituted monogamous marriage between man and woman as the foundation of the family and the primary structure of human society. For this reason, we hold that marriage is exclusively the union of one biological male and one biological female.
